Hi Comickers!
Betsy here.
I've been patiently waiting for something like NaNoWriMo for comic artists to appear for a while now... but it hasn't.
So, I have decided to make it myself.
It's called 12 Panel Comics and will take place during the month of August 2016.
We all know how labor and time intensive making comics can be, and I think that's why a lot of us haven't started on the comics we want to make. With 12 Panel Comics, the goal is to draw and finish just 12 panels in a single month, because, let's face it, not all of us have the luxury to put life/bills/Pokemon Go on hold while we draw comics for a month.
With 12PC, the goal is small and manageable, but it gets you started! "The journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step," right? 12PC is that first step.
It's easy to join!
Step 1. Join the email list
Head on over to12panelcomics.com to join the email list. You'll receive tips, motivational support, and extra info not found anywhere else on the website. Your email will never be shared, and you can unsubscribe at anytime.
Step 2. Choose your format.
I chose the number 12 because it's a really versatile number in comic making. You could do four 3-panel comic strips like in the newspaper, three 4-panel comics like the Japanese "Yonkoma" (i.e. Azumanga Daioh, Nozaki-kun), 2-4 comic pages with a different number of panels on each page as in graphic novels or manga, or, 12 panels on a single page. Templates will be available at 12panelcomics.com, or you can set up your own pages.
Step 3. Draw your panels!
Starting in August, begin drawing your panels! You do not have to submit your work, but if you want to share, there will be a private DA group opening July 31st. (You must be on the email list to join to help keep the group focused on committed artists.) Or, when your comic is finished at the end of the month, share it right here on Comic Makers Club!
Any questions? Feel free to send me a DA note or comment below!
New Web Comic on Webtoon
Hello members of Comic-Makers-Club!
This is Myles D. Goethe alias Shadow Goethe, brand new member of the group. I have a brand new fantasy themed web comic on Webtoon I'd like to inform you all, titled, FRIGHT DARKWATER! Still fairly early, it's only been out for a week but I would definitely appreciate some feedback on it cuz this is first SERIOUS comic on Webtoon.
Description: Fright Darkwater is a new student enrolling at Vanir Academy’s School for the Mystic Arts aspiring to be a master sorceress. However, most of the school find her difficult to be around. Bias, ignorance and slander has painted Fright in the eyes of everyone as
